At Polpo, we’re always curious about the backgrounds and passions of our team members. Today, we’d like to introduce you to Christos, our talented back-end developer with a passion for AI. Enjoy the read!
What’s your background?
“I was born and raised in sunny Athens, Greece,” says Christos. “My academic background is in management science and technology, as well as Artificial Intelligence.” Although trained in both business and engineering, Christos quickly realized that software engineering was his true passion. “I’ve been fascinated by computers since I was young. And as my grandmother used to say, if you can turn your hobby into your job, you’ve done well,” he laughs.
What attracted you to Polpo?
“What makes Polpo unique is their boundless vision—both literally and figuratively,” he explains. “Polpo’s open mindset, both in their approach to technology and in their work culture, really stood out to me. Here, I get the opportunity to work on various AI projects, which is incredibly exciting.”
At Polpo, the company culture is something Christos truly values. “There’s a close-knit, collegial atmosphere with a focus on innovating and learning together. After the first meeting, I knew this was the right place for me. Here, I can experiment with new ideas and brainstorm with my colleagues, which helps us to keep innovating constantly.”
How do you spend your free time?
“My passion for technology doesn’t stop at work.” In his free time, Christos dives into the world of gaming. “Gaming has taught me to multitask and solve complex problems. It’s also where my love for computers and software development began.”
“And to make sure I’m not at my desk all day, I regularly hit the gym. Since I was young, I’ve practiced various martial arts, such as taekwondo and kickboxing. It’s not just a great way to stay active but also fantastic for building confidence!”
After work and study, Christos finds it important to unwind: “When the workday ends, I close my laptop and take a half-hour break without any screens. On weekends, I love to relax by attending electronic music events, meeting up with friends, and going on spontaneous outings.”
How do you see your future at Polpo?
Christos is enthusiastic about his future at Polpo. He appreciates the customer-oriented approach and agile working style, which foster innovation and continuous improvement. “What’s unique about Polpo is that we integrate direct feedback from users. Combined with the opportunity to work at the forefront of AI, my role here is incredibly exciting,” he says. Christos is determined to continue developing technological solutions with the team that truly make a difference for clients.
