Backend developer

Polpo is looking for a Node.js Developer to help us build out our political monitor. Within a Scrum team you will be involved in the development of the backend of our web application. The delivery of a stable and user-friendly application is of great importance.

Job Profile

Polpo’s political monitor searches 24/7 all messages from the Lower House, national government, European Parliament, interest groups and much more! This keeps member organizations constantly informed of the latest developments. This is often very important for business strategy, especially now! 

To further develop our monitor in the best possible way, we are looking for a Backend Developer. A real go-getter who works with colleagues to build new innovative features. We will give you a lot of freedom to work on new techniques and solutions! Would you like to see your improvements and extensions actually used by the customer? Great! As a developer in our scrum team, much of your work will be put into production!   

You will research and implement new features, help fix bugs and contribute to application maintenance. As a Backend Developer, you know the application inside out and ensure a stable platform and optimal user experience.   

How You Strengthen Our Team

Your profile  

  • Minimum Bachelor’s working and thinking level  
  • 2+ years of experience as a (Node.js/BackEnd) developer

Technologies  

We use the following technologies, among others: Node.js (express), Vue.js, MongoDB and Elastic. 

Experience with one or more of the following technologies in addition to Node.js we consider a plus:  

  • Express, MongoDB, Mongoose, Elasticsearch  
  • REST APIs.  
  • Axios, Cheerio, jQuery  
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES6)  
  •  js, Webpack   
  • Testing frameworks (Mocha, Expect, Chai, Jest), ESLint  
  • Git, Continuous Delivery
